  Michael Charlton of Redwoods and rivers is the most experanced oarsman on the river, having served his apprenticedship on the Grand Canyon of the Colorado, he has many years of white water experanice. There are easier ways to make a living but Mike runs the river because he loves it. His work with handicapped people and underprivileged kids is unique on the river. Many of our campers have taken trips with Mike and all have nothing but praise for Mike and his guides and the wonderful experance they had on this beautifully scenic river.

River Guide School
June 15-20, 2008
This is the 16th year Redwoods and Rivers will be conducting this fun and exciting 6-Day River Guide program. Among many of the things covered are: paddle guiding rafts, reading whitewater, anatomy of rivers, low impact wilderness camping, outdoor food preparation for groups, natural and cultural history, team building, outdoor leadership, river safety, river etiquette, and swift water rescue techniques. Teamwork and decision-making are taught and practiced throughout our school. Redwoods and Rivers Guide School is a non-competitive program designed for anyone wishing to gain knowledge of running rivers, and for river enthusiasts wanting to become professional river guides.
